Surely the wrong word to describe the beginning of a such an exciting creative journey? If you have something firmly in mind, we’re happy to review any drawings or documents you have. Otherwise, we’d be delighted to simply hear about your vision, see your sketches and explore the possibilities. More formally, it continues with a site visit, full audit and logistics assessment. It’s creative and fun, but we also understand the need for rigour and fastidious planning.

2 | proposals & pictures

It’s the part of the journey when we often see our clients’ faces light up and hear many a yelp or “wow”. No surprise as it’s the time when your dream starts taking shape in the form of our:  design sketches; reference images; material listings or 3D CAD modelling. The idea coming to life before your very eyes. Accompanied of course by full, transparent and detailed costings (less fun but just as vital).

3 | applications & regulations

In your imagination “anything goes”. However, with any new structure or building scheme rules apply and it needs to be permissible and legal. Boxes need ticking. Where planning permission is required, we’re happy to work with your architect or planning advisor, or introduce you to professionals we know and trust, accompanying you through every step of what can feel like an exhausting time (and paper) intensive process. 

4 | Designs & Specifications

We’ve told you how obsessed we are with design detail. That also goes for the construction drawings, calculations and specifications required to make the imaginable buildable. The accuracy of these is essential to our promise of enduring quality craftmanship and detailed functionality. Beauty needs perfect numbers. Again, we will consult with architects and structural engineers where required and ensure our designs are compliant with planning or building regulation requirements.  

5 | building & finishing

This is where your dream turns into reality. We can adapt to many finishes including: timber, bricks, concrete, artificial rockwork, steel and glass. And that’s why you’ll often see a wide array of tradesman, craftsmen and specialists trusted for their professionalism and quality workmanship to help us complete projects from foundations to final flourishes with that precisely fitted handle or catch.

6 | Opening & celebrating

Your beautiful new play-space, tree-house, home-office, studio, chalet or “glamping village” is complete. We’ll leave the opening party plans to you and hope that we just might receive an invite.
